Program Details
•Dates: Thursday, 23 April and Thursday, 30 April 2026.
•Time: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm AEST for both sessions.
•Location: Cairns Harbourside Hotel, 209-217 Esplanade, Cairns North QLD 4870.
•Dates: Thursday, 11 June and Thursday, 18 June 2026.
•Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 121-123 Esplanade, Cairns City QLD 4870.
•Purpose: This program is designed to help practitioners move from "performative gestures" to genuine preparation in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It focuses on unlearning unconscious biases and embedding culturally responsive practices into daily work.
•Target Audience: Specialist domestic and family violence (DFV), sexual assault, or women’s health services funded by the Office for Women and Violence Prevention.
•Facilitators: Delivered by First Nations facilitators, including Leanne Levinge and Rona Scherer, with cultural perspectives provided by Bowie Solutions.
•Bowie Solutions
•Commitment: Participants must attend all full-day sessions in their chosen series, as each day builds on the previous one.
•$198.00 for the target specialist group.
•$396.00 for other community services and government attendees.
