What to Expect 
Target Audience 
Location: Cairns Harbourside Hotel, 209-217 Esplanade, Cairns North QLD 4870.
Dates: Thursday, 23 April 2026 and Thursday, 30 April 2026.
Time: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm AEST for both sessions.
Type: Professional development workshop series.
$198.00 for specialist domestic and family violence, sexual assault, or women's health services funded by specific government departments.
$396.00 for other community services and government agencies.
Content: This immersive program uses educational content, self-reflective activities, and robust group discussions to explore historical and contemporary experiences that create cultural unsafety.
Facilitators: Delivered by First Nations facilitators including Leanne Levinge (Kombumerri and Ngugi descendant) and Rona Scherer (Mamu and Eastern Yalanji), accompanied by Bowie Solutions.
Structure: It consists of two linked full-day workshops; participants are expected to attend both sessions as they build on each other.
Outcomes: Participants will develop personalised action plans to embed culturally responsive practices into their everyday work.
