Discovery Fridays is a weekly STEAM-focused day camp hosted by the Don Harrington Discovery Center (DHDC) in Amarillo, TX. These events are specifically designed for students in 4-day school districts, homeschoolers, or any children ages 4 to 11 looking for hands-on science and nature exploration.

The program features rotating themes and is offered almost every Friday:

Event Details

•Don Harrington Discovery Center

•March 27, 2026: Discovery Fridays: Weather Science – Includes hands-on activities related to weather patterns.

•April 10, 17, & 24, 2026: Discovery Fridays: Nature Science – Focuses on hands-on nature-themed activities.

•May 8, 2026: Discovery Fridays: Dinosaur Science – Hands-on dinosaur-themed activities.

•Location: Don Harrington Discovery Center, 1200 Streit Dr., Amarillo, TX 79106.

•Full Day: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Must be at least 5 years old).

•Half Day (AM): 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or 12:30 PM).

•Half Day (PM): 12:30 PM (or 1:00 PM) – 4:00 PM.

•Non-members: Approximately $30.00 per half day or $55.00 per full day.

•Members: Approximately $27.00 per half day or $50.00 per full day.

•Additional: Pre-care and after-care are available for an extra $10.00 each.

•Requirements: Full-day campers must bring their own lunch; snacks are typically provided during morning and afternoon sessions. Pre-K students must be able to use the toilet independently.
