The Elgin Theatre Company is presenting the play Fade by Tanya Saracho at the newly relocated Elgin Art Showcase in April and May 2026.
Performances run for three consecutive weekends in 2026:
Fade is a two-character, semi-autobiographical dramedy. It follows Lucia, a Mexican-born novelist who has just been hired as a television writer in Hollywood. Feeling like a "diversity hire" in a male-dominated environment, she forms a complex and evolving friendship with Abel, the building's Mexican-American janitor. Their story explores themes of shared heritage, class, and ambition.
Tickets are general admission (no reserved seating) and can be purchased through the Elgin Theatre Company website or at the door (cash only).
