Key Deadlines & Participation
•Theme: "250 Years of Independence!" in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
•Special Guest: Bonnie Barczykowski, the Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of the USA, will attend and help lead the march to the Capitol.
•Location: The day begins at the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Center (1 Convention Center Plaza) before moving to the Illinois State Capitol.
•Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m..
•Cost: $20 per girl and $15 per adult.
•9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Expo at the BOS Center featuring a balloon drop, a message from the CEO, and various activity booths.
•11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: The "Famous March to the Capitol" followed by an inspirational rally at the Lincoln Statue with guest speakers.
•12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Independent exploration of downtown Springfield. Scouts are encouraged to visit museums and historical sites using an "event passport".
•Registration: Registration is available online via Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.
