Context of 2026 Strategic Planning
•Northern States Governors' Forum (NSGF) Stakeholder Meeting: Chaired by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, this high-level meeting in mid-March 2026 addressed critical regional issues including lingering insecurity, poverty, out-of-school children, and other socio-economic challenges. The session included:
•Attendees: Governors from Gombe, Kaduna, Borno, Bauchi, and other Northern states, alongside the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.
•Key Focus: Briefings on military efforts to tackle banditry and terrorism, and urgent actions required to mitigate the negative economic impact of insecurity.
•Digital Transformation Drive: In late February 2026, the state government hosted a strategic engagement to deepen digital transformation and IT innovation. This included designating "State IT Champions" to lead the implementation of digital policies within various government sectors.
•Tunisia-Gombe Development Partnership: Governor Yahaya met with a high-level delegation from the Tunisia Consortium for African Development (TUCAD) in February 2026. This engagement aimed at unlocking investments in:
•Water and hydraulic infrastructure.
•Renewable energy and transport systems.
•Sports infrastructure and industrial development.
