Have Another Look Captain Cook! is an annual event held at Queensland Museum Cobb+Co in Toowoomba City that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history. The program focuses on the 65,000 years of history and culture that existed before European arrival in 1770.

Date: Monday, 3 August – Friday, 7 August 2026.
Time: 9:30 am – 2:00 pm daily.
Location: Queensland Museum Cobb+Co, 27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba City QLD 4350.
Target Audience: Primarily designed as a school program for students (Prep to Year 12), but also open to the general public to join the celebration.
Cost: The event is typically free with museum entry for the public; school groups must book in advance.
Opening Ceremony: Each morning begins with a Welcome and Smoking Ceremony.
Cultural Performances: Traditional song and dance presentations, often featuring groups like the Ngarrumban Arts and Cultural Experience.
Hands-on Learning: Activities include boomerang and spear throwing, First Nations weaving, and art/symbolism workshops.
Bush Knowledge: Educational sessions on "Murri Connection to Country," covering traditional tucker (food), medicines, tools, and weapons.
Gallery Exploration: Access to the Binangar Gallery to view Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts.

Secrets: Objects of Intrigue: A new exhibition uncovering hidden stories from the museum collection, opening 27 March 2026.
