LCRC Youth - La Llorona
The LCRC Youth - La Llorona event is a free 1-mile fun run for children aged 14 and under, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026. Organized by the Las Cruces Running Club (LCRC), it serves as the kickoff for their annual Summer Youth Program, which features a series of free races designed to keep kids active and social.
This event is the first in a series of four scheduled for the summer of 2026:
Note that there is a separate storytelling event titled "Tales of La Llorona & the early days along the banks of the El Rio del Norte" occurring earlier on March 7, 2026, also at La Llorona Park. Unlike the youth run, this is a paid event for ages 12+ featuring historical storytelling and snacks.
