The HCA x First Creek Great Newcastle Waiter’s Race is a high-energy street spectacle and the signature opening event of Newcastle Food Month 2026. Inspired by the 105-year-old Paris Waiter's Race, it celebrates the skill and camaraderie of the local hospitality industry.
Hospitality teams and individuals from across the region compete by carrying trays laden with wine, beer, and food through a 1km course. Racers must navigate obstacles and crowds without spilling a drop, showcasing precision and speed. The winning team is awarded the Hunter Culinary Cup.
