Courier Delivery Drivers

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, drivers require a minimum salary of 4,000 AED per month to obtain a work permit and sponsor family members as of 1 January 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day. This threshold applies uniformly across all emirates for private sector driver roles.

Drivers must hold a valid UAE commercial heavy or light vehicle licence issued by the Roads and Transport Authority with at least 3 years documented experience as of 2026. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation requires submission of the RTA licence copy along with the work permit application. No foreign licence conversion is accepted without a minimum 6-month UAE residency period.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation sets a maximum of 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week for drivers, with mandatory 30 days annual leave after completing one year of service as of 2026. Drivers receive an additional 10 public holidays and sick leave of 90 days at full or half pay depending on service length. All overtime above 8 hours must be compensated at 1.25 times the basic salary.

Applicants must submit a valid passport, attested educational certificates, RTA commercial driving licence, medical fitness certificate, and Emirates ID application through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation portal as of 2026. The employer files the application with a signed labour contract specifying 4,000 AED minimum salary. Processing takes 3 to 5 working days after fee payment of 300 AED.
