Job Title: Security Guard – Event & Prom Support

Location: Mississauga/Peel Region
Employment Type: Casual / On-call
Shift Schedule: Day & Evening Shifts (8:00am to 4:00pm) and (6:00pm to 2:00am) Flexible hours, typically 4–7 hours per shift
Availability: Must be available Monday through Saturday

Job Summary – What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Security Shift Supervisor, the Security Guard will be responsible for providing security and safety services at school events and proms.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
β€’ Provide visible security presence and foot patrols at school proms and events
β€’ Monitor entry points and control access as needed
β€’ Interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors
β€’ Respond to and de-escalate incidents in a calm and effective manner
β€’ Complete detailed shift logs and incident reports using TrackTik (personal device required)
β€’ Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
β€’ Ensure compliance with site-specific procedures and public safety legislation
β€’ Assist with customer inquiries and wayfinding as needed
β€’ Perform other related security duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Experience – What You Bring
β€’ Valid Ontario Security Guard License
β€’ 1 year of Event Security Experience preferred.
β€’ Minimum 3 years of security experience, including both standard and tactical roles
β€’ Must have a Valid G Driver's license
β€’ Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
β€’ Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
β€’ Comfortable working in high-contact public environments
β€’ Reliable, punctual, and professional in conduct
β€’ Experience with digital reporting systems is an asset
β€’ Ability to work flexible, on-call hours including evenings and weekends
