Wm Schmidt is actively seeking a | Plumber - Rough-In – Residential Construction |

Our ‘Rough-In Plumbers’ are a key member of our front-end plumbing and rough-in teams; In this role successful candidates will be predominately responsible for the assessment, evaluation, troubleshooting, and install of plumbing and drainage systems in new home construction. Acting as a client facing point of contact our teams provide an innovative solution-based approach to our commitment to top tier customer satisfaction.

Key deliverables and executables for this role will focus on front-end rough-in plumbing and installation of plumbing and drainage systems in new residential home construction projects.

Our Rough-In Plumbers are a key conduit to our clients and vendors; they are instrumental in delivering high-quality workmanship and in ensuring maximum client, builder and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties include but are not limited to:
• Plumbing rough in of new residential homes.
• Install plumbing groundworks in residential homes.
• Install and repair plumbing and drainage systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Oversee apprentices on-site provide meaningful mentorship and growth opportunities for new and existing apprentices in accordance with AIT requirements.
• Document issues and repairs ensuring timely follow up, customer care and satisfaction. Provide feedback to the department and team on learnings and experiences that may be beneficial for future troubleshooting and/or product and material evaluation.
• In conjunction with the Health Safety and Environment department, lead by example, instill and facilitate a culture of safety and excellence and satisfaction in a professionally job pridefully executed.

Organizational Reporting Structure:

Reports To: Plumbing Supervisors; receives operational guidance, corporate and budgetary direction and leadership oversight directly via the reporting relationships to the Plumbing Supervisors and Plumbing Department Manager.

Direct Reports: None. Some Plumbing staff maybe selected to assist and provide mentorship and training to apprentices however this is not to be considered a supervisory type relationship.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
• Certified Plumbing Journeyperson - with Two (2) + years of residential plumbing installation experience.
• Red Seal Certification considered a highly desirable asset.
• Experience in Residential Plumbing: Preference will be given to new home construction experience; however, all related experience is considered an asset.
• Valid Drivers License with acceptable abstract (provided by incumbent; offer subject to confirmation).
• Ability to read, interpret and extrapolate from architectural design blueprints: Ability to think quickly, troubleshoot issues, and make sound decisions within authority to ensure timely project completion.
• Willingness to learn and improve: Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office based systems and tools as well as use of mobile devices (i.e. tablet, cellphone etc.) to complete digital reporting.
• Strong Communication Skills: Clear and concise verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for clear and concise messaging.
• Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
