Responsibilities:
Assist senior welders and fabricators with various tasks on the shop floor. Learn and practice different welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, on a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements. Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and deburring. Perform basic metal cutting and shaping using hand and power tools. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. Participate actively in classroom-based theoretical training sessions. Operate and maintain welding equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. Inspect welds for quality and structural integrity, identifying and reporting any defects. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely. Good physical condition, with the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weight, and work in various environmental conditions. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning welding and fabrication. Must be reliable and punctual, with a commitment to completing the apprenticeship program. Previous exposure to a shop or industrial environment is an asset but not required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as per company policy.
