As per the Ministry of Manpower, the minimum wage for cleaning staff in Egypt is 7000 EGP per month as of January 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 8 hours per day. Employers must register all cleaning contracts with the local manpower office.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, cleaning staff positions require completion of basic literacy education and at least 6 months of documented prior cleaning experience. No formal degree is needed but a valid health certificate issued after medical screening is mandatory.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants must submit a national ID, recent medical fitness certificate, and a police clearance certificate dated within 3 months. Applications are submitted in person at the nearest manpower directorate office with 4 passport photos.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, cleaning staff may work a maximum of 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week with at least one rest day. Workers receive 21 days of paid annual leave after completing one full year of service.
