The Public Authority for Manpower sets the minimum wage for security guards at 250 KWD per month for non-Kuwaiti workers effective January 2026, with overtime paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate after 8 hours daily. Kuwaiti nationals in the same role receive a minimum of 400 KWD per month under the national labor support program.

Non-Kuwaiti security guards must obtain a work permit from the Public Authority for Manpower and a residency visa sponsored by the employer, with the application requiring a valid passport, medical fitness certificate, and police clearance issued no earlier than 2025. The permit fee is 10 KWD and must be renewed annually before the contract expiry date.

Security guards require a minimum of secondary school certificate plus 2 years of prior security experience verified by the employer, along with completion of a 40-hour training course approved by the Ministry of Interior. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass a physical fitness test conducted at approved centers.

Submit the application online through the Public Authority for Manpower portal with a completed form, attested educational certificates, experience letters, passport copy, and 4 recent photos, followed by employer sponsorship approval within 30 days. The full process takes 45-60 days including medical and security screening.
