General Helper & Welding Apprentice – Mon–Fri

The Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social sets the 2026 general minimum wage at 312.50 MXN per day for welders in Zona Libre de la Frontera Norte and 248.93 MXN per day in the rest of the country effective January 1 2026. Welders receive an additional 50 percent premium for overtime beyond eight hours daily. Employers must pay this rate regardless of contract type.

Applicants need a secundaria certificate plus a minimum of 480 hours of certified welding training from a CONOCER-accredited center completed before January 2026. Two years of documented experience in shielded metal arc welding is mandatory for industrial positions. No university degree is required.

Welders are limited to 48 hours per week with at least one paid rest day according to the 2026 Federal Labor Law. They receive 12 days of paid vacation after the first year plus an additional two days for each subsequent year. Christmas bonus equals at least 15 days of salary paid by December 20 2026.

Job seekers must submit a valid CURP, official identification, and the CONOCER welding competency certificate issued no earlier than 2024. Employers require a signed IMSS affiliation form and proof of address dated within three months. Applications are processed via the STPS portal by March 2026.
