Driver 1 Month Temporary

The Ministry of Labour sets the minimum wage at 1,000 QAR per month plus 300 QAR food allowance and 500 QAR accommodation allowance for all drivers including heavy vehicle roles effective from 2021 and unchanged through 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week. Employers must deposit salaries into bank accounts by the 7th of each month.

Indian drivers must obtain a Qatar work visa sponsored by the employer through the Ministry of Labour e-services portal before arrival, followed by medical fitness test and Qatar ID issuance within 90 days. The visa fee is 200 QAR and the process requires a valid passport, attested degree or experience certificate, and police clearance from India dated within 6 months. No self-sponsored driver visas are permitted.

Applicants need a minimum of 2 years documented driving experience in the past 5 years plus a valid home country driving licence converted to Qatar licence within 6 months of arrival. No formal education beyond secondary school is required but the employer must verify experience via attested documents submitted to the Ministry of Labour.

The Ministry of Labour requires upload of passport valid for at least 6 months, attested educational or experience certificates, recent passport photos, and a medical certificate from an approved centre. All documents must be in PDF format under 2 MB each and submitted via the employer’s account on the Mol e-services system before visa issuance.
