As per the Ministry of Manpower, the minimum wage for cleaning staff in Singapore is SGD 1,650 per month from 1 January 2026 for workers with no prior experience. This rises to SGD 1,850 per month after 12 months of service and SGD 2,050 after 24 months. Overtime after 44 hours weekly must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, foreign cleaning staff must hold a valid Work Permit sponsored by a licensed cleaning company. Employers pay a monthly foreign worker levy of SGD 450 for workers aged 50 and below as of January 2026. The permit is valid for up to 2 years and requires a security bond of SGD 5,000.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants for cleaning staff roles must be at least 18 years old with no minimum education qualification required. Local workers need no prior experience while foreign applicants require at least 6 months of relevant experience verified by the employer. All must pass a medical examination within 14 days of arrival.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants must submit a valid passport, recent passport-sized photo, educational certificates if any, and a completed Work Permit application form. Foreigners also require an IPA letter and medical report from a Singapore-approved clinic submitted within 7 days of entry.
