As per the Ministry of Manpower, the Progressive Wage Model requires entry-level food services workers to earn at least SGD 2,200 per month from 1 January 2026, rising to SGD 2,500 after 12 months of service with training completion. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours beyond 44 per week. Employers must submit wage records via the MOM portal by the 15th of each month.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, foreign workers for restaurant roles must hold a valid Work Permit with a minimum monthly salary of SGD 2,200 and an approved quota allocation under the food services sector. Applications require employer sponsorship and medical clearance completed before arrival, with permits valid for up to 2 years and renewable only after 6 months continuous employment.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants for food services positions require completion of at least secondary education and the WSQ Food Safety and Hygiene course before starting work. No prior experience is mandated for entry-level roles but 6 months of relevant service is needed to qualify for the higher PWM wage tier of SGD 2,500 monthly from January 2026.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants must submit NRIC or valid passport, WSQ Food Safety certificate, educational certificates and recent payslips from the last 3 months. Foreign applicants additionally need a valid In-Principle Approval letter and medical report issued within 3 months of application submission via the MOM eServices portal.
