Thinking about welding work over there
So you're looking at welder jobs in Thailand. It's doable but you gotta know where things stand first.
From what I've seen the market moves fast in places like Bangkok and the industrial zones. Pay isn't always crazy high but the lifestyle can pull you in.
Pay ranges you might actually get
Entry level stuff starts around 15k to 25k baht a month. Experienced guys pull 35k plus if they land something steady with overtime. Big difference depending if it's shipyard or factory work.
Honestly speaking I talked to a guy last year who switched from construction to oil rig support. His take home jumped after he got certified for TIG.
Best spots to hunt these roles
Rayong and Chonburi have tons of plants that need welders year round. Bangkok has the agencies but competition is stiff there. Chiang Mai less so but fewer openings overall.
Check the big job boards daily. Also walk into some yards if you're already in country. Sometimes they hire on the spot if you show up with tools.

What they usually ask for
Most want at least a basic cert. AWS or equivalent helps a ton. Thai language isn't always required but it sure makes daily life easier on site.
And don't skip the safety training part. Sites get picky about that now.
Real talk - visa stuff can trip people up. Many come on tourist first then switch. Not the cleanest way but it happens.
Living on that wage
Rent in smaller towns stays cheap. You can find a decent place for 5-8k. Food markets keep costs low too.
But Bangkok eats your money fast if you go out a lot. Balance it right and it's fine.
One thing I noticed - overtime is where the real money sits. Without it the base feels tight.
