β€’ We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Area Manager to oversee the cleaning operations within a designated region. The Area Manager will be responsible for managing a team of cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times, and meeting client expectations.

Qualifications:
β€’ Grade 12
β€’ Minimum 5 Years’ experience in cleaning, Hygiene and Facilities Management is compulsory
β€’ Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial cleaning or facilities management setting
β€’ Strong organizational and leadership skills
β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
β€’ Knowledge of cleaning techniques and best practices
β€’ Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
β€’ Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Key areas of responsibility:
β€’ Manage a team of cleaners, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
β€’ Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met
β€’ Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures
β€’ Maintain relationships with clients and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner
β€’ Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory and make necessary orders
β€’ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
β€’ Provide regular reports to senior management on cleaning operations and performance

Employee Management
β€’ Manage all subordinates in accordance with sector strategy, contract specification, and statutory regulations
β€’ Ensure that all subordinates adhere to working standards as per the respective service level agreement and Business Standards
β€’ Ensure that company image and reputation is upheld, and employees adhere to uniform regulations
β€’ Arrange counselling and effect wellness campaigns within each site
β€’ Monitor and verify employee time schedules as per shift agreements
β€’ Employees leave management
β€’ Regularly communicate changes and general information to all employees per site

Industrial Relations Support
β€’ Maintain discipline by using the company’s disciplinary code and procedure, as well as attending to grievances.
β€’ Preparation of contingency plan for strikes and stay away.
β€’ Appraising staff by way of verbal direction and performance appraisal for supervisory level and above.
β€’ Adherence to company policy and procedure
β€’ Manage Union relationships

Recruitment
β€’ Efficiently source temporary employees in accordance with labour legislation and internal process and policy
β€’ Ensure that employee head count on site is in line with the agreed head count costing
β€’ Approval process to be followed when hiring new staff
β€’ To ensure that staff members sign their engagement contract before they start work on site
β€’ To ensure that all onboarding forms are submitted to payroll on time

Systems and Process
β€’ Ensure that PRP hours are approved on time
β€’ Adhere to on time salary payments

Site management
β€’ To carry out regular inspections
β€’ To be responsible for the prompt attention to the communications book procedure.
β€’ To attend certain regular meeting with clients, where minutes need to be taken.
β€’ All problems to receive prompt action
β€’ Usage of the AM tool for each site
β€’ Audits and inspections
β€’ Site inspections on regular basis
β€’ Maintain overall client expenses on site

Business development
