General Welder

Qualification
β€’ Grade 12
β€’ Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
β€’ Trade Test in Welding (advantageous but not essential)

Requirements
β€’ Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
β€’ Valid drivers license
β€’ Experience working from engineering drawings.
β€’ Experience with fabrication and assembly of metal components.
β€’ Must be proficient in β€œStick” (SMAW) and β€œTIG” (GTAW) processes.
β€’ Must be proficient to weld at least in a 3G position (6G bonus)
β€’ Must be proficient in the following welding material:
β€’ Stainless steel (304L / 316L)
β€’ Carbon Steel / Mild steel (516GR70 / 430A / etc.)
β€’ Aluminium (1050 / 1050H14
β€’ Attention to detail and be safety conscious
β€’ Quality conscious
β€’ Good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work independently and under pressure
β€’ Problem-solving ability, with good communication skills, also ensuring that production issues are communicated promptly
