Job Description
A corporate risk management firm in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape is hiring a Retail Security Guard to conduct security risk assessments for clients. You will evaluate site security measures, identify vulnerabilities, develop security plans and recommendations, and present findings to client management. Experience in security auditing and report writing is needed.

Responsibilities
• Monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room, identifying and responding to any unusual or suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly to alarm activations, investigate the cause, and take appropriate action including escalation to armed response or law enforcement.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a firm and professional security presence.
• Assist with emergency procedures including fire evacuations, medical emergencies, and crisis situations according to established protocols.
• Perform regular checks of security equipment including alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems to ensure functionality.
• Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review.

Requirements
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, conduct foot patrols, and respond quickly to incidents.
• For armed response roles, a valid firearm competency certificate and experience in handling firearms safely.
• A valid PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade level for the position being applied for.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to write reports and interact professionally with clients and the public.
• The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure in emergency or high-stress situations.
