Job Description
Position Summary

To perform fabrication and welding of transformer tanks, brackets, covers and associated steel components in accordance with approved drawings, process quality plans and safety requirements, ensuring structural integrity, dimensional accuracy and leak-proof construction

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication Duties
• Fit components according to drawings and process quality plans.
• Lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding.
• Prepare components for welding according to specifications.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in flat, vertical and overhead positions.
• Repair machinery and components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

Equipment Operation
• Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Inspection & Measurement
• Record accurate component dimensions using calibrated instruments.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.

Compliance & Safety
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.
• Wear appropriate PPE including heat-resistant gloves, protective masks and safety shoes.
• Follow strict safety regulations and working environment standards.
• Carry out work as per Supervisor’s instructions.

Quality & Performance
• Ensure high quality standard of workmanship.
• Apply job knowledge and understanding of scope to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain punctuality and innovation in daily operations.

Minimum Requirements
• Class A or B Welder with N6 trade test certificate.
• Minimum 5 years related experience as a Class A or B Welder.
• Experience in a technical working environment.
