Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE

To deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders, by ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of tyres, tools, and other products to customers, retail locations, and other business partners. This role involves driving company vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and pick-ups, maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service.

KEY OUTCOMES

1. Delivery and Collection:
• Safely transport tyres, wheels, and related products to customer locations, workshops, and retail outlets.
• Pick up tyres and products from suppliers, distributors, or other business locations as required.
• Ensure timely delivery and collection to meet customer and company expectations.

2. Vehicle Maintenance:
• Perform regular checks on the company vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Report any vehicle maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Ensure that the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety regulations.

3. Route Planning and Scheduling:
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for deliveries and collections, factoring in traffic, road conditions, and customer requirements.
• Assist in scheduling and adjusting delivery routes based on changing priorities and business needs.
• Ensure all deliveries are made within the allocated time frame.

4. Customer Interaction:
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with customers upon delivery or collection.
• Ensure that products are delivered in a safe and secure manner, minimizing the risk of damage.
• Answer any customer queries regarding the delivered products, and resolve any issues in a timely manner.

5. Loading and Unloading:
• Assist with the loading and unloading of tyres and products from the vehicle, ensuring correct handling to avoid damage.
• Ensure that all products are secured properly during transport to prevent shifting or damage.

6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, product quantities, and customer signatures.
• Complete all required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, invoices, and returns forms.
• Report any issues encountered during deliveries, such as delays, damages, or customer complaints.
• Compliance with Laws and Safety Standards:
• Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
• Adhere to the company’s driving policy, ensuring safe driving practices are always followed.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and ensure compliance with any licensing requirements.

8. Inventory Assistance:
• Assist with stock checks at delivery points to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Help in loading/unloading stock at the warehouse or workshop, ensuring that tyres and other products are stored properly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience: Previous experience in driving, delivery, or logistics is preferred, particularly in the tyre or automotive industry.
• License: A valid driver’s licence, depending on the job hired for, and PDP license and a clean driving record.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of tyre types, sizes, and products is a plus, but not essential.
• Customer Service: Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy items (tyres, wheels) and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, follow schedules, and prioritize deliveries.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate delivery records and product handling.
