A Mediclinic cleaner maintains the cleanliness, hygiene, and infection‑control standards of Mediclinic hospitals, sub‑acute facilities, occupational health clinics, Intercare day clinics and primary care centres across South Africa.
Locations Johannesburg, Gauteng – Mediclinic hospital and clinic cleaning, sterile environment maintenance, and patient ward hygiene Sandton, Gauteng – Premium Mediclinic hospital cleaning and high‑standard healthcare hygiene in upmarket Sandton facilities Cape Town, Western Cape – Mediclinic hospital and clinic cleaning, infection‑control hygiene, and operating theatre support cleaning Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal – Mediclinic hospital cleaning, premium healthcare hygiene, and patient area maintenance Pretoria / Tshwane, Gauteng – Mediclinic hospital and clinic cleaning and premium healthcare facility hygiene Bloemfontein, Free State – Mediclinic hospital cleaning and healthcare facility hygiene services Stellenbosch, Western Cape – Mediclinic hospital cleaning, infection‑control hygiene, and patient ward maintenance Paarl, Western Cape – Mediclinic hospital cleaning and healthcare facility hygiene Gqeberha, Eastern Cape – Mediclinic hospital cleaning and premium healthcare facility hygiene services Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental standards in all Mediclinic facilities. Perform routine cleaning of patient wards, operating theatres, procedure suites, waiting areas, and restrooms. Apply infection‑control procedures and follow standard operating procedures for healthcare cleaning. Ensure compliance with Mediclinic’s rigorous infection‑prevention and clinical hygiene standards. Report any maintenance or hygiene issues to supervisory staff. Salary & Benefits

Entry‑level Mediclinic hospital cleaner – ZAR 5,500–7,000 per month Experienced Mediclinic hospital cleaner – ZAR 7,000–9,500 per month Mediclinic theatre and ICU support cleaner – ZAR 7,500–10,500 per month Mediclinic Intercare day clinic or primary care cleaner – ZAR 6,500–9,000 per month Cleaning team leader – ZAR 10,000–14,000 per month Cleaning supervisor – ZAR 14,000–19,000 per month Qualifications and Skills Education No formal qualification required for entry‑level roles. Grade 10 or Grade 12 strongly preferred. Good communication skills in English advantageous for patient‑facing areas. Experience and Skills Previous cleaning experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is advantageous. Basic understanding of infection‑control procedures and hygiene protocols preferred. Ability to follow standard operating procedures for healthcare cleaning. Reliability, attention to detail, and physical fitness to meet the demands of a healthcare cleaning environment. Certifications (Advantageous) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) awareness training. Health and Safety (OHSA) awareness certificate.
